20166 arrived in full working order, painted in RFS Industries grey livery, after its release from Channel Tunnel duties. They had hired the loco from its previous owner for its period of use in the tunnel. It was numbered 2015 and also carried the number 35 which was its tunnel fleet operating number. It had the honour of leading out 4 other 20s from the tunnel, back into Britain on 20 May 1993. It is a regular performer at Bodmin, and almost exclusively hauled the Fitzgerald Lighting freight train for several years until the train ceased operating in 2001. It is often worked to its limit on the steep gradients at Bodmin, but gives very little trouble. It is painted in an 80s version of BR green as carried by 20030/064, and is named RIVER FOWEY in line with names carried by those locos. |
