FACILITIES on the Railway
Most of our day time trains are wheelchair friendly with
a ramp available at all stations to gain access on to the train.
As entertainment of some sort is usually included with
our evening trains wheelchair access to these trains is more limited.
There are toilets with wide doors available at Bodmin
General station. There are toilets on the train but these have
traditional narrow doors.
Disabled passengers can travel on our
day time trains (except Santa Specials & Dining Trains and receive 50%
discount on the normal adult or child fares only. We do not give
discounts to carers except when booked in advance as part of an organisation.
BODMIN GENERAL station has reserved
parking on the station forecourt for mobility impaired passengers
The Booking Office is fitted with an induction
hearing loop. Most of the station including the shop is wheel
chair accessible.
Boscarne Junction station is accessed via
a ramp from the Camel Trail. The nearest car park is about half a mile
away.
Colesloggett Halt is a very rural station
with access from a local footpath only.
Bodmin Parkway station is a main line
station and is operated by First Great Western Trains. Access to the Bodmin & Wenford
Railway platform and the London bound mainline platform is either by the
footbridge, which has steps, or on a level crossing over the main line by
arrangement with First Great Western Trains.
The Bodmin & Wenford Railway will be happy to assist any
disabled passenger including, if required, providing a personal guide.
